The story of
Doña Felisa

The Winery

INNOVATION, SUSTAINABILITY AND RESPECT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

The new Doña Felisa Winery represents the evolution of a family project that moves towards the future without forgetting its roots. Designed with energy efficiency and sustainability criteria, it seeks to minimize its environmental impact and optimize every stage of the winemaking process.

One of its main advances is the ability to generate its own energy, promoting self-sufficiency and reducing its carbon footprint. Sustainability is present both in the architectural design and landscape integration and in the management of resources and production processes.

The new facilities combine functionality, technology and design to unite tradition and innovation with a common goal: producing wines of the highest quality while respecting the environment.

OUR

Vineyards

Where it all begins

Our vineyards are located in Ronda, a privileged territory for growing vines thanks to its unique combination of altitude, climate and soil diversity.

Located between 700 and 1,000 metres above sea level, they enjoy a marked temperature difference between day and night, favouring a slow, balanced ripening that brings freshness, aromatic intensity and elegance to the wines.

An exceptional terroir

The diversity of soils in our estates, made up of clay-limestone, sandy and stony materials, provides excellent drainage conditions and forces the vine to develop deep root systems. This natural effort favors moderate yields and a greater concentration of aromas and flavors.

The combination of soil, altitude and climate creates a unique terroir that gives identity and personality to our wines.

A privileged climate

The climate of Ronda is one of the key factors that define the personality of our wines.

A Mediterranean climate with continental influence characterizes our vineyards. Warm, dry summers, together with the cool nights typical of high altitude, help preserve the grape’s natural acidity and achieve optimal phenolic ripening.

Adding to this uniqueness is the influence of two seas. The proximity to both the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean creates air currents that converge in the Serranía de Ronda, bringing freshness, natural ventilation and an exceptional climatic balance throughout the vine’s growing cycle.

The Mediterranean influence favors proper ripening of the grapes and excellent aromatic concentration, while the Atlantic currents bring freshness and elegance and help preserve natural acidity. This combination, together with the altitude of our vineyards, allows us to produce balanced, complex wines with a strong identity.

We work with varieties carefully selected for their adaptation to the environment and their ability to express the character of Ronda.
With a wide selection of both international and native varieties: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Moscatel among the whites, and Tempranillo, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Graciano, Garnacha, Petit Verdot, Tintilla de Rota and Malbec among the reds.

Always worked individually, respecting their particularities and always seeking to express the authenticity of our landscape. Because great wines are born in the vineyard, and that is where our story begins every year.

WINEMAKING

Technology at the service of quality

At Bodega Doña Felisa we see technology as a tool at the service of quality, capable of preserving the essence of the grape and faithfully expressing the character of our terroir. Every detail of our new winery has been designed to produce wines with the utmost precision, respecting the raw material and the natural rhythms of each process.

Excellence begins in the vineyard, where all plots are harvested by hand and at night, taking advantage of the low temperatures to preserve the integrity of the grapes, protect their aromatic potential and minimize oxidation from the very first moment.

In the winery, winemaking is carried out by gravity, allowing the grapes and wine to move naturally throughout the entire process. This system reduces mechanical handling and helps preserve the purity, freshness and expression of each wine.

We have state-of-the-art stainless steel tanks and concrete egg-shaped tanks, which promote the natural circulation of the lees and bring greater complexity and balance to certain wines.

The entire process is monitored by control systems that ensure precise management of fermentations and complete traceability through to bottling. The bottling line also incorporates inspection and verification technology to ensure that every bottle meets the highest quality standards.

Tradition, knowledge and innovation work together towards a single goal: making wines that authentically reflect the personality of Ronda and the philosophy of Bodega Doña Felisa.
